Dragon Skeletons

Was struck by a whim to do a couple updated sketches on how I generally imagine hexapodal skeletons whenever drawing dragons. I tend to draw both versions these days, either arms-in-front or wings-in-front depending on the design and mood I'm going for. There's various combos of bird, bat and pterosaur going on in each of these. I wouldn't call either "anatomically realistic", as there's of course many concessions here for the sake of keeping the classic fantasy dragon look, but it works for me when I want something "passably believable" for most purposes.

Arro, an old childhood dragon character demonstrating the more classical "arms in front" design. Wings are stabilized by a coracoid without a furcula connected to the wings (pterosaur style).
