GW2: Aurene

The adolescent/teenage growth stage of Aurene the dragon from Guild Wars 2. Made back in 2017. Additional concept support by Zhengyi Wang.

This model is a type case example of the collaboration and cross artist influence that can often occur on game assets. This design was extrapolated off the baby Aurene model designed and sculpted by Ronald Kury, which was in turn partly influenced by the dragon Mordremoth from the "Heart of Thorns" expansion which was sculpted by James Van Den Bogart. Additionally Aurene's design further references dragon characters from GW1 to whom she's related and rig restrictions determined by unrelated models set further limits.

Marmoset Scene

Early concept envisioning a more adult Aurene. Later once the decision was made to re-use a preexisting rig she was skewed younger.
