Fundamentals of Creature Design: Ungulate Herbivore

Creature design prompt for 3DTotal ‘s “Fundamentals of Creature Design”.

The initial prompt was an ungulate reliant on scent as its primary sense, and that balances the uses of both camouflage and aposematism for defense. Balancing the various competing needs eventually led me to develop a reptilian herbivore with faux plant-like integument. I ended up thinking of them as Bramblesnoots. You can learn more about the design process behind this and other awesome creature designs by picking up the book from 3DTotal's website.
